Topic – Project Management Lesson from "The Speed of Trust" by Stephen M.R. Covey (with Rebecca R. Merrill)
Synopsis -Trust can be defined as confidence, faith, or belief. Trust is a key component to successful projects. Monte and Fremel will discuss elements and techniques of trust based on the book The Speed of Trust by Stephen M.R. Covey with Rebecca R. Merrill. These trust topics can be used in project management.

Fremel's Bio - Originally from Gary Indiana, Fremel and his wife moved to Jackson from Phoenix Arizona in 2009. Fremel graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Computer Information Systems. He has an MS degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Health Informatics and Information Management (MHIIM). Fremel’s career has been focused on information technology which includes PC and server support, networking, application support, and project/program management.
Fremel is currently Vice President-Programs for the Central Mississippi Chapter of the Project Management Institue. He also serves on the Goodwill Mississipi Board of Directors as Treasurer. He has participated in other community service roles with TutorMate, Rotary, and Big Brother Big Sister.
Fremel is Intelligence Program Manager at UMMC, focusing on Research and Education projects/programs. He has 3 children: Madison Joy and twin boys Mason & James.
Monte's Bio - Monte is a graduate of the Doctorate of Health Administration (DHA) program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Since graduating, he has chaired several doctoral committees for students in the program.
Monte earned his PMP in 2009. He is currently the Vice President-Education for the Central Mississippi Chapter of the Project Management Institute. His activities with the chapter include several presentations for chapter meetings as well as participating with a group to discuss project management with students at a local high school.
He is an IT Project Manager at UMMC primarily involved with the implementation of healthcare projects. He has over 25 years’ experience in information technology and health information technology leading a number of projects related to IT implementations, EHR implementations/upgrades, biomedical device integration, and legacy application decommissioning and data archiving.
He is also an adjunct instructor for the Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) program at UMMC. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at the Madison, MS branch of Tulane University prior to its closing. He has also taught project management and IT-related courses at the Mississippi Institute of Technology Services. He will also be teaching a Health Economics course during the summer of 2020 for the DHA program at UMMC.
He is also involved in a number of community service activities including being an advisory board member and volunteer for his local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. He also has volunteered on numerous occasions to serve meals at the local “soup kitchen.”
